I’m Nando Carter, a Chicano filmmaker and cinematographer from Washington. My work centers on community, identity, and telling culturally rooted stories that reflect our struggles, joy, and truth.

Located at the corner with the big dinosaur and bright orange facade, the business reflects how culture adapts and thrives in the everyday.Impact: A celebration of small business identity, cultural resilience, and local pride through a cinematic lens.

The Immigration Resident

Client: Latinos en Spokane & Community PartnersA powerful documentary honoring the contributions, resilience, and struggles of Latino immigrant communities in Eastern Washington. This film captures firsthand stories of survival — from unjust immigration policies to health disparities and systemic neglect — while emphasizing collective power and the strength of grassroots organizing.Impact: Used for advocacy, education, and policy awareness, the film uplifts immigrant narratives often left out of mainstream media.

My Comeback is Stronger Than My Setback

Client: Renew Behavioral Health & Wellness (Grant County, WA)This short film was created in collaboration with the SUD Prevention Team at Renew to showcase the stories of individuals overcoming substance use challenges. Built around real testimonials, the story was co-developed and performed by clients and staff, blending cinematic visuals with community authenticity.Impact: Inspired by lived experience, this piece aims to reduce stigma and encourage others to seek support.
